Automation Engineer

This is a great opportunity to join a leading provider of high-speed processing technology. They supply clients around the world developing state-of-the-art technologies, optimising customers' production flow, and helping to deliver consistent high-quality output.

Due to increased demand they have an excellent opportunity for an Automation Engineer to join their multidisciplinary group of highly skilled engineers. As part of this team, you will be involved in machine design from concept right through to commissioning, factory design integration projects and process testing at customer sites. You will also be involved in process trials, testing and optimisation in their lab located in their Dublin office.

As an Automation Engineer you will be part of a team responsible for the design, development, modification, specification, and evaluation of electical and automation equipment for new or existing products. You will also complete engineering documentation to release new designs or design modifications. Develop project specific electrical schematics. Develop project specific PLC, HMI and SCADA controls. Implement ongoing engineering change orders, ensuring engineering changes are processed and documented. Build prototype units, prepare proof-of-concept rigs and engage in other hands-on activities. You will also on occasion visit customer sites to evaluate product performance and assess site-specific issues as well as support sales, Service and Production departments as required.

We would love to meet Automation Engineers with three years post qualification experience who have strong skills and experience of PLC programming and an excellent knowledge of any or all of the following tools, Rockwell’s RSStudio, FTME and FTSE, Siemens’ Simatic Manager, WinCC and TIA Portal and Mitsubishi’s GX Works. A strong knowledge and understanding of motor control especially that using Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) would be very useful as would being skilled in electrical cabinet design and specification. CMSE or equivalent certification would be a bonus for the role.

Personally, you have a keen eye and appreciation for detail and the ability to work as part of a team but also remotely with limited supervision. You have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and proven problem-solving ability.

This really is an excellent opportunity to join a world leader in its field working on cutting edge projects as part of a top-class team. They provide a competitive salary as well as extensive benefits and enjoy a great reputation as an employer.
