Our Client is a well-funded, high-tech, start-up based in South County Dublin Ireland. With the launch of its first-generation product in 2021, the company is targeting a large niche global market of disease and drug research organisations that is estimated to grow to €1 billion in annual revenues within ten years. Since their formation in 2015, they have won numerous national and EU awards for their technology and business proposition. They are now seeking to grow their organisation with the recruitment of an agile and hard-working Mechanical Instrumentation and control Engineer who has the ambition to grow their career as the company grows

 

The successful candidate will be working on developing very high precision electro-mechanical / optical assemblies in a vacuum environment. They will contribute to
delivering first of its kind technology and the role will afford ample opportunity to implement meaningful design change as they move into commercialisation of their technology. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in the development of high-precision electro-mechanical actuation and control devices and/or diagnostic instrumentation for high-precision optical assemblies.

 

The position will report to the company’s Principal Engineer and the ideal candidate will have a particular aptitude for diagnostic instrumentation and high-precision mechanical actuation. Specific knowledge of high-precision optical assemblies will be a distinct advantage. The role will involve:

 

• Design of control and instrumentation systems for a vacuum environment.

• Analysis of problems and associated root cause analyses.

• Generate and perform validation /testing programmes.

• Ensuring that all engineering documentation created as part of tasks meet the requirements of internal procedures & strict timelines.

 

You will be qualified to bachelor's degree level in mechanical engineering or similar and will have a minimum of four years experience including:

The ability to design mechanical control systems (specific emphasis is placed upon a strong understanding of Solid Mechanics, Thermal Dynamics, Materials and
Vibration). Experience of very high precision mechanical control a broad knowledge of instrumentation and control technologies as well as strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
