Research and Development Engineer

You will be part of their Dublin based team made up of over 40 Engineers and Scientists working on next generation processing equipment. Their aim is to achieve excellence in technological innovation. As a result of their continued expansion, they now wish to recruit a Research and Development Engineer.
The multi-disciplinary Systems Team is responsible for the development of the electronic,illumination,optical-imaging,and classification technologies and their subsequent integration with the mechanical and software aspects of the client’s products.
As part of the Systems team, you Will be responsible for the research and development of Systems technologies, Prototype design,test,validation and performance bench-marking. In addition you will carry out data analysis, modelling, and dissemination and documentation of results. You will also be involved in troubleshooting and solving technical issues as well as collaborating with software,engineering and machine intelligence teams.
You will work in a dynamic, multi-disciplinary environment. Each day will present a new opportunity to tackle new challenges bridging a range of technical fields (optics, automation, spectroscopy, multivariate analysis, and machine learning).The broad scope of this role will give you the opportunity to contribute to the delivery of real time solutions to customers and participate in long-range R&D projects.
To take full advantage of this opportunity you will need three years relevant industrial experience or post-graduate training with a knowledgeable in one or more of the following disciplines: automation,electronics,vision systems,optics or spectroscopy. Experience in basic programming or modelling tools(e.g.Python) and you are a Lateral thinker, problem solver and innovator. You are a good communicator with strong presentation skills(both verbal and written) and are passionate about continuous development.
